Games can hold 9.5 on double layered discs. Dont think many games use it though

Gamespot have given the xbox version 5.4 with over 100 readers giving it an average of 6.8. They haven't reviewed the ps2 version yet but nearly 100 readers have given it an average of 8.6 so far, so who knows maybe it's slightly better or less buggy.

Sod glitchy, from what I've heard, this game is missing a few hundred screens of code. I'm not surprised - Atari were Infogrames before they changed their name, after all; they released some of the crappest titles known to man under that name, which makes it pretty clear why they changed their company name to Atari, which everyone recognizes, in an attempt to maybe blind the public to the quality of their games using rose tint tactics.

Everyone knows that magazines get paid off; it's been happening for years. They get various offers of money/publicity - i.e. a cash lump sum on publication of a fraud review, some stickers on game covers or another exclusivity deal of some kind. Printed magazines are no longer worth the trees they're printed on - the journalists don't make enough money to have ideals, and if they're offered a nice bonus for some mild "alterations" to an unimportant-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things game, then so be it. It's human nature, and filthy rich game publishers capitalize on this.

KKlein, Edge's former editor was Joao Diniz-Sanchez, if you're looking for that interview.

Isn't it just because of the different demographics? PS2 owners are more likely to put up with the game, Xbox owners tend to be more critical of the kind of flaws Driv3r exhibits. Would you agree? According to most of the forums around, the Xbox version's better so there must be some reason for the discrepancy.

Yeah, but some of the glitches mentioned can seriously affect the fun factor, especially in the main mose of the game. I think the free roam looks enjoyable though. Bouncy cars could be fun.

What glitches would those be?

*reads through topic again*

*suggests dodgy_dave does the same*

Indeed. *Points to the fact that the PS2 version of Enter the Matrix stayed in the top ten long after the other two console versions dropped out.*

You’ve hit the nail on the head here. With all the problems that the game has it’s clearly not finished and needed at least another month or three in development to iron out these little problems. The fact that there are so many glitches surely spoils the overall package. The ones I highlighted on page 1 of this thread alone should set alarm bells ringing and I really wish someone from PSM2 and XBW would get themselves on this thread to at least respond to some of the points we’ve raised. I’ve got a feeling they’ve been prevented from doing so hence no response. It’s a shame really, I’d really like to hear their side of the story.

I've read the Gamespot review this morning and that review is spot on with my feelings of the game..I hope most of the people reading this forum will not buy PSM2 or XboxWorld again, these magazines need to learn that they can not treat their customers in this manner. Certainly I will not be buying either magazine again.

IGN have posted their review and awarded the PS2 and Xbox versions 5.4 and 5.5 respectively. 1UP on the other hand have awarded it 8.5, calling it "the best movie-like game yet".

Interestingly, they haven't mentioned the glitches previously mentioned in this thread, although GameSpot and IGN name them as one of the major reasons for the low scoring.

I'll make my decision on XBW once I've read all of it. Luckily GAME gave it me for £4.00. Maybe it was because of this?

Damn, finding a decent mag is so difficult these days. I might just stick to OXM.

No idea, but does include 1001 bugs and glitches – at no extra cost to the consumer Very Happy

I'm still waiting for my copy, which I might add Royal Mail has probably lost/stolen again seeing as Gameplay usually have to you within 2 days. Wait till I see our postman tomorrow I'm going to give him a piece of my mind...

And if those low scores from both IGN & Gamespot don't prove the games a load of old piss I don't know what will. The game isn't even in the same league as both the Getaway & GTA, let alone True Crime.

It shows an incredulous amount of disrespect to honest gamers. People buy these magazines on an unwritten "contract" that the magazine will do their best to make sure gamers only buy titles worth their hard-earned. What these magazines are doing is defying that, and the whole foundation of what games magazines are.
