The first appearance in a magazine of the Raxinfraxin, Saxinraxin, Dixdastardlax joke, although I had come up with it a few years previously as part of my ongoing project, Big Pile Of Papers With Random Jokes And Ideas Written On Them And Some Drawings On The Back Which Nothing Ever Gets Done With Despite A Lot Of It Being Really Quite Good.

Rax, Sax and Dix-Dax then reappeared as part of a Back Page story called It Was a Time of Darkness in Steve Faragher's RPG mag Arcane, and despite knowing nothing about the orcy world o' fantasy beyond having read the Harvard Lampoon's Bored of the Rings, and the first two episodes being ruinously, cretinously sub-edited like they were reviews, I liked writing it and it was funny.

It was then dropped for a comic strip which, at great expense and by virtue of the sterling efforts of two professional writers, an illustrator and a lettering artist, precisely recreated the film Alien with gnomes.

Still. I was right. You can have a look if you like.
