Ask AP

Astonishingly, the fact that AMIGA POWER was a games magazine permanently eluded some readers. They persisted in asking technical questions about replacing RAM or upgrading disk drives despite this being clearly stupid - you wouldn't ask Amiga Format about games, for example - and no stony silence could deter them.

Hence the irregular feature Ask AMIGA POWER, where readers with technical questions would be thoroughly, imaginatively, recklessly, brutally abused until fearful embarrassment caused them to stop.

Except they wouldn't. Fearful embarrassment was unknown to them. As, indeed, was the ability to parse the phrases "Don't buy an Amiga game until you've read this," "We care about one thing only - games," and "Stop sending us technical questions or we will kill you." Soon we were receiving letters that started, "This is the fourth time I have written to you. I read your magazine every month. Can I use Fast RAM in my external disk drive?" It was almost as if they were cleverly driving the joke into the ground, except every single letter was deadly serious.

Ask AP briefly returned as Techy Corner because Jonathan Nash suddenly found the huge box of technical questions that a dispirited Cam had pushed to the back of the office.

There. Were. Some. New. Letters. In. It.
