*This isn't as ridiculous as it sounds.

Normally reliable sources suggested to AP leakingly that what had happened was this: the staff of ("Michael Jackson" - Ed) had been moved with great relief to console mags, but were compelled by their publishers to continue producing ("MJ" - Ed) at an internal freelance rate of, supposedly, £10 per page.

Whatever, they clearly didn't care in the slightest what went in the mag. A memorable series of "This mag is crap" asides (cleverly hidden away in, for example, the 52-point-sized-type introductions to the disk pages) were crossly brought to an end by an eagle-eyed publisher after a mere six or seven months, but even these were eclipsed by the Final Testament Of "Son Of Boggit."

One of the last issues saw their pseudonymous adventure column writer fired to save money. Dropping his facade, the columnist (their ex-Prod Ed or something) spent the last "Son of Boggit" relentlessly savaging the mag, the staff, the publisher and the company in a scorching attack that evidently went to the printer totally unchecked, providing the few readers who examined the adventure section with the finest pair of pages to appear in ("Michael Jackson" - Ed) for at least 168 years.
