By the time it came to pay the bill it turned out that I was the only one with a credit card with sufficient credit still on it to pay the bill. I had no idea what I was signing, but the staff seemed pleased so I assumed I'd given them a big tip. There was some amount of despair when I told everyone that their share of the bill was £54.
I seem to remember the bill working out at £52.50 each, a fact which I've just confirmed with my cheque stub (the maths is explained by Jackie Garford leaving well before the descent into madness).

Tim generously allows me to pay off my debt over three months, for which I'm eternally thankful.
All the stories about Tim being found in a toilet are told to me second hand at later dates. Although I do remember him being off for days and days.
Mark and I reported for work at 9.30 the next day. This clearly proves that we are the hardest. Tim reappeared a full five days later. Jacquie seemed none the worse for wear. What does this tell us?

It ought to be pointed out that the meal took place on a Thursday and that I was back at work on the Monday.
Although "technically" this is a long time, I was only absent from work for one day.
Stuart, "cursed with total recall when drunk" is convinced that Tim did not appear in AMIGA POWER until the following Wednesday, although he concedes it could have been Tuesday afternoon. About 5pm. Those crazy kids, eh, readers?
In a later interview, Tim admitted to some doubt regarding the time of his return. He recalls wandering into Super Play upon returning to the old woman's bedroom, then nothing until being rescued from the toilets by Stuart and Mark, this being closely followed by sitting outside, hunched against the building by the car park gates waiting for Jan ("I had to get out into the fresh air") and being driven home ("in a white car, dry-heaving all the way").
