My new copy of The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Languagedefines "idiolect" as:

"The speech of an individual, considered as a linguistic pattern uniqueamong speakers of his or her language or dialect."

...which is, of course, quite close to the real meaning.

Once again, we win.
