Inspector Geezer was a character from a Back Page in Game Zone (then played by James Stewart and awarding a subscription to anyone who could solve the murder he described) so it was particularly pleasing to bring him back.

A Baffling Case For Inspector Geezer was prompted by Paul, playing management sim Rugby League Coach, suddenly yelping, "But he's killed him!" Gallumphing over to his desk, we saw he was referring to a bloke kneeling beside a fallen player and looking astonishingly sinisterly back over his shoulder. "It's like the crumpled goalkeeper in On The Ball," laughed Steve. I reacted lightbulbingly. Thanks, Paul and Steve.

This is one of my favourite ever things for AP. The plot flows well, Sue's slide-projector device builds the story neatly, there's a good pay-off and it contains the phrase "You damned interfering jackanapes!" which I stole from an eerily similarly plotted Agatha Christe mystery.

I liked the Inspector and his trusty assistant Constable Aaarghh, so they returned again for the paranormal issue's Doris Stokes Investigates.
