SUBSCRIBER'S LETTER 10 - February 1994
Dear Subscriber, Oh no, not again. I'm getting a bit fed up of this. No sooner have I spent most of last month's letter ranting on about how you were all too lazy and crap to enter the special subscribers-only compo that I'd gone to all that trouble to set up (the 'send-us-a-picture-of-you-at-Christmas' one, if you've just tuned in), than, quite literally the next day, a whole clutch of entries arrived. Sod. So thanks for all your belated snapshots, and congratulations to David Wood, who'll be receiving last month's top five games and a visit from the Serious Crimes Squad any day now. Good news time, now. This is the last of my tedious subscriber's-letter ramblings you'll ever have to read - from next month, AP's still-vacant Editor's chair will be filled by the fine manly form of long-time contributor Jonathan Davies, and he'll be writing to you in hopefully a rather more coherent and informative manner. JD comes to you fresh from plucky young console magazine Sega Zone, where he's done such a grand editing job that we've, er, sold the magazine to another publisher. Hang on, that can't be right. Ex-AP Art Ed Jacquie Spanton has worked (on day release from the Betty Ford Clinic, obviously) on Sega Zone with Jonathan for the last few months, so I asked her to introduce him to AP's readers. 'He's got policeman's hair', said Jacquie. In case you're wondering, by the way, what happened to the last incumbent of the AMIGA POWER hot seat, luscious, pouting Linda Barker is now leaving a trail of daisies everywhere she goes on our sister magazine Game Zone, where she's Consultant Editor. Although now completely recovered from her illness, the erstwhile supremo decided that the, er, unique atmosphere of the AP office wasn't conducive to her continued well-being, and opted for somewhere where they play slightly less unpleasant music and don't shout quite so much. We miss her, but her spirit lives on eternally. And that's it, really - I'm off now, next month you'll be hearing from someone entirely less disjointed and messy. I'm sure Jonathan's looking forward to it as much as you are. Oh yes. Bye-bye everyone. Bye-bye. Stuart Campbell Last Year's Thing. |
